All About Home Schooling
As a famous book title says "All I really need to know I learned in kindergarten". You might as well accept that you may have failed to take up these lessons as there is no such thing as kindergarten when you are home schooled all alone. But then again, there are reasons why children are home schooled.
The term home schooling generally refers to teaching and instruction done at home but under the regulation and administration of school associations also known as umbrella schools or correspondence schools. The home school movement was roused by John Caldwell Holt, a teacher, when he published "How Children Fail." The book raised controversy as it criticized school instruction stressing that the failure of children to learn was not due to the amount of effort and determination to learn but on the setting provided by the schools.
Mr. Holt believed that the home is the most appropriate base where the child can explore and learn where there is no interference, no regulation and no control. This view was shared by an education professional couple, Raymond and Dorothy Moore. The Moores advocated that children from 8 to 12 years old can learn more from home than at schools as there is an added advantage of the strengthening of the bonds and emotional development between the parent and the child during these formative years.
On some account, home schooling is typically an alternative that some parents opt to have for their children with the wish that the latter may dwell in a learning environment different from that of public or private schools. This does not seem too unreasonable considering the situation of some of our schools nowadays.
In this day and age, it is not surprising that we hear news of school bullies hitting on the timid and meek kid or of teen cliques who discriminate at those who do not belong to their group to the point of embarrassing them in front of people scaring them for life. These horror stories could haunt any parent who only wants the best for their child and who would anticipate that they never get a chance to live through these kind of experiences.
All About Free Online Training
Online education has become very popular for many students. It can allow people to obtain a certificate, diploma or even a degree at their own convenience. Yet, despite this many will still not be able to take advantage of it. Why? It’s because most online educational programs are very expensive. Even a certificate can cost you hundreds of dollars. And degrees or diplomas will cost you thousands. This is not good for individuals who need career training yet have lower budgets. However, hope is not lost since there are many companies offering free online training for various occupational skills.

All About Brain Anatomy
The brain is responsible for so many things. It stores our short term and long term memories. The ability to learn is from our brain as well. Our emotions and triggers are stored in our brain. The brain is a source of information on everything we do and about who we are.
The anatomy of the brain shows us just how complex it truly is. There is so much about the brain science and the medical field have not yet uncovered. However, there is a great deal we have learned about the brain by studying the physical features of it. We have also learned from the neurological aspects of the brain. We have the ability to perform brain surgery and remove tumors as well as install plates for those who have neurological damage. This is a fascinating area of science and medicine that can be overwhelming to learn about in detail.
There are six main areas of the brain to learn about. The parietal lobe helps us understand written language as well as communicate with others. Our sensory cortex is located here, controlling the sensations we get with touching and amounts of pressure. This is also an area of judgment for size, weight and distance.
The occipital lobe is located at the rear of the brain. This is where visual information is processed. It helps use to recognize shapes and colors. The cerebellum helps us with coordination including balance and muscle movement that help you walk, talk, eat, and routine tasks involved in caring for ourselves.
The brainstem is a very important part of the brain. It is connected to the spinal cord. This portion of the brain helps with required body functions including breathing, digesting, the regulation of the heart rate, blood pressure, and being alert while awake.
The temporal lobe is how we smell. This is surprising information for most of us who think only the nose is responsible for our sense of smell. This region is also used for short term memory processing.
The frontal lobe is a very important portion of the brain. It is responsible for planning, organizing, problem solving, paying attention to details, behavior, and emotions. This is the area of our brain we use the most in our daily routines and decisions.
After-School Tutoring For Memphis Schools Students
At some point or another, almost all of us have. Whether it’s been something like handwriting or learning letters to diagramming a sentence or geometry, we’ve all had times when we’ve struggled in school. (This does not mean the struggle we had staying awake in early morning classes!) While classroom teachers are doing everything they can to help their students and facilitate learning, they can’t do it all. They need help. The Memphis Schools school board leaders struggled with this issue. Here’s one way they’re trying to help these struggling Memphis Schools students (and their teachers).
The Memphis Schools system has created a department to handle the recruitment and organization of community members who are willing and able to donate time and effort mentoring students. As stated on the Memphis City Schools website, “helping one child learn helps us all. Children must master basic reading and mathematics skills to succeed in life, and all of them can. But some need a little extra help and a little extra time. Some of them need you.”
Memphis Schools are calling on the entire community to help tutor students, and will give volunteers all the training and materials needed to do the job. Adds the Memphis Schools website, “All you have to invest is a little time. And when this investment grows, everybody profits. It's time we stopped asking, "Why doesn't somebody do something?" Somebody can. You. Join Our children - Our Future, the new Memphis City schools volunteer tutor training program.” It is a wonderful initiative that is being undertaken by the Memphis Schools system, and one to be copied by other school systems throughout Tennessee and the nation.
When participating in the program serving students attending Memphis Schools, volunteer tutors work with K-6 students for 30 minutes once or twice a week, and 45 minutes once a week for those in 7th – 12th grades. Times for tutoring sessions will be individualized for all Memphis Schools, and will include times before, during, and after the school day. Individual schedules of volunteers will be considered when scheduling tutoring sessions.
